In the context of its work against homophobia, and with the support of “Heinrich Boll Foundation”, Helem developed a public education booklet entitled “Myths and Facts: The Truth about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity”, in four languages Arabic, English, French, and Armenian. The booklet tackles various sexual orientation issues such as heterosexism and homophobia, homosexuality and mental health, and homosexuality and myths around human sexuality, and other related issues.
Helem, the first public gay and lesbian organization in the Arab World, has been leading a peaceful struggle against homophobia, through empowering the LGBT community in Lebanon and promoting awareness around the dangers of homophobia and different sexual orientation issues.

Sophie Calle’s work at the Whitechapel Gallery

aaf0a702b63abc53_sophie-calle-talking-to-strangers

The Whitechapel Gallery presents the first UK retrospective of leading French contemporary artist Sophie Calle. Sophie Calle’s work involves encounters with strangers that are both deeply personal and revealing of broader social issues. Placing trust in individuals, her artistic social experiments explore identity, the connections between individuals and the boundaries between the public and private self. Images and texts document the performative process, and her work creates an unsettling intimacy but a positive outlook. This major exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery brings together 12 key works to survey Sophie Calle’s career from the late 1970s to the present day.

Evolution de l’Art is a gallery for contemporary art which only sells artworks that are immaterial, with no physical residue, and it does not release certificates of authenticity, nor statements or receipts. EdlA will represent, on a non-exclusive basis, artists whose artwork is, at least in the case of some specific projects, alien from any physical-material component. Beyond this condition, there will not be any other limitation or requisite for represented artists in terms of medium or technique.

EdlA offers the possibility of becoming contemporary art collectors to the widest possible audience. Therefore the gallery will offer artworks at a range of very different prices, including some that can be purchased for a few Euros. Purchases can be made at the headquarters of the gallery (Stefanikova 21, Bratislava) or through the website www.evolutiondelart.net.

On the gallery website, anyone can find the updated list of artworks for sale, with their price list, as well as a list of all those that have been already sold, including the buyers’ names (unless anonymity is requested).
